Ten Commandments for starting polar bears
De 10 geboden winterzwemmen voor aspirant ijsberen
AS A STARTING POLAR BEAR YOU SHOULD ...
1. ... swim as much as possible in the open air.
2. ... only swim after warming up (gym, jogging, volleyball, football).
3. ... keep your body-heat, wearing your tracksuit until you go into the water.
4. ... NOT stay in the water for a long time, never get forced by someone else, simply swim your own distance.
Short bathings are the best!
5. ... go immediately to the changing room, do not dawdle nor keep talking.
6. ... dry your body with the utmost care and preferably a rough cloth.
7. ... bestow highly care on your feet (especially the toes) to prevent mycosis
8. ... wear appropriate foot-wear between changing room and swimming pool (rubber slippers).
9. ... NEVER exercise nor swim after having breakfast, lunch or dinner.

... dress warmly afterwards to maintain the reaction of the bathing as long as possible.
